The Maryland Interagency Commission on School Construction (IAC) staff hosted a series of webinars in 2019 to provide foundational facilities management information to stakeholders and the general public. This webinar, the second in the series, explains how and why managing the total cost of ownership of a facility is essential to fiscal sustainability. Speakers review the costs associated with the key phases of a facility’s lifecycle — Planning, Design, Construction, and Operations & Maintenance — with an eye toward achieving a statewide portfolio of facilities that is educationally effective and fiscally sustainable over time.
