Thriving
Students.
School environments deeply impact how children learn. A modern elementary or secondary (PreK-12) school campus should be a place that enables students to thrive, teachers to excel in their craft, and communities to flourish. But today, deteriorated conditions in many aging public schools make it difficult to achieve these positive outcomes. To meet this challenge, we must strengthen our public capacity to build, operate, and maintain modern schools for all of America’s children.
NCSI is a resource hub supporting the stewardship of our nation’s public school facilities.
The National Center on School Infrastructure (NCSI) works to empower state and local leaders to deliver modern public school facilities that help all schools and communities thrive. To inform policy decisions and build effective systems of stewardship, we curate resources, foster knowledge-sharing, and provide technical assistance.
Resources
NCSI is building a searchable resource library that will launch in 2025. Here we’ve curated select resources related to school facilities and infrastructure, including summaries of research evidence, expert commentaries, deep-dive studies that highlight key themes or subtopics, and evidence-based tools that support action.
