The Clean Air School Challenge (CASC), managed by the American Lung Association and funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is an engagement, recognition, training and technical assistance program that will empower K-12 schools across the country to address indoor air quality (IAQ). CASC will:
- Foster awareness
- Provide education about indoor air pollution risks
- Offer resources and solutions
- Guide schools in developing and maintaining a comprehensive Energy Efficient IAQ Management Plan
- Build capacity for schools to manage and implement those Plans.
The goal of CASC is to increase the number of K-12 schools who have adopted an Energy Efficient IAQ Management Plan. The team at the American Lung Association will help schools get there by providing:
- Education and Training
- Technical Assistance
- Recognition
- Peer Mentorship
- Learning Cohorts
- Mini-Grant Opportunities (Mini-grant eligibility and funding levels)
- Access to other Lung Association Programs and Services
