NCES Fast Facts: Condition of Public School Facilities

The National Center for Education Statistics compiled this “Fast Facts” fact sheet from the School Pulse Panel. The data, collected in December 2023, came from 1,625 participating public K–12 schools from every state and the District of Columbia. Fast Facts compiles at-a-glance information on age of buildings, state of repair, air quality, and types of facilities (instructional, athletic, operations, etc.).
