Lower Bills, Better Classrooms: Lessons from HVAC Controls Retrofits
Hosted by National Center on School Infrastructure
Discover how HVAC controls retrofits can slash utility costs while improving classroom ventilation. This webinar, hosted by the National Center on School Infrastructure and presented by the Schools Team at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, will explore a case study from Alaska, where two schools underwent air handler upgrades followed by HVAC commissioning and controls improvements. We will walk through the state and district-level processes used to identify the school facilities most in need of performance upgrades, discuss the implementation of system changes, and showcase the resulting energy and cost savings and ventilation improvements. We’ll then zoom out to discuss findings and resources applicable to other school districts facing similar conditions, spotlighting tools and actionable takeaways for school management and facilities staff, districts and state agencies, and other stakeholders seeking to lower implementation costs for HVAC projects.
