      School District-Wide Renovations, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Illness Absence

      This study examines the effects of district-wide school renovations—including HVAC upgrades and enhanced cleaning protocols—on student illness-related absences. Findings show that over one-third of respiratory illness absences could be reduced through updated facilities, adequate ventilation, cooler temperatures, and higher humidity.
