USDA Rural Development Water and Environmental Programs
The USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) provides grants to state and local governments, higher education institutions, and public power entities to support energy audits and renewable energy development assistance. These grants enable eligible organizations to assist agricultural producers and rural small businesses in identifying and implementing energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy solutions. Unlike small businesses, agricultural producers do not need to be located in rural areas to qualify. The program is designed to reduce energy costs, promote sustainability, and improve long-term economic viability in rural communities. Funding cycles vary, and applicants should monitor USDA announcements for future opportunities.
