Better Buildings Zero Energy Schools Accelerator

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE),

The Better Buildings Zero Energy Schools Accelerator (ZESA) supports school administrators and facilities planners seeking to integrate zero energy principles into new or existing facilities. This website serves as a resource hub offering updates, technical assistance, webinars, and tools to help school districts overcome market barriers, develop energy-saving plans, and implement projects for building or renovating schools to be zero energy (ZE) buildings. Through collaboration, districts create replicable roadmaps for ZE schools, demonstrating that they can be built at the same cost as conventional schools using today’s technologies. The program highlights how ZE schools can improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and serve as models for other districts.
