Community of Practice for Schoolyard Forests: Case Studies From Across the USA and Around the World
Green Schoolyards America convenes an open and welcoming monthly online discussion forum for school districts, county offices of education, public agencies, landscape architects, tree planting organizations, and practitioners from across the country to share information as they move forward with establishing schoolyard forests at scale. This series is part of the Schoolyard Forest System®, a national initiative that seeks to create schoolyard forests across pre-K-12 public school grounds to directly shade and protect students from extreme heat and rising temperatures. This webinar series and discussion forum builds a collegial “community of practice” and national network to strengthen these efforts. All online gatherings are free and most are recorded. Each features real world examples of how to plan for, create, and care for schoolyard forests. Links to the recordings are included on this webpage.
