Model Policies in Support of High Performance School Buildings for All Children

This report provides model policy language for elementary and secondary public school facilities related to School Facility and Community Planning; Schools as Centers of Community; Public School Facilities Management; and Public School Facilities Funding. The model policies were developed through a year-long process working with state officials, school finance attorneys, researchers, and education advocates. The report describes the challenges, intent, and rationale for the policy recommendations. The model policies can be used to guide or help evaluate state and local policies affecting the planning and use of public school facilities.
