Safe and Adequate: Using Litigation to Address Inadequate K-12 School Facilities

Education Law Center,

This report describes how plaintiffs, usually low wealth and high need school districts have used litigation to address poor conditions in their public school buildings and grounds. Although there have been many cases since 2006, the report provides the still applicable logic for making a legal case on behalf of low wealth and high need communities, students, and facilities. The report was written by attorneys with decades of experience successfully litigating school finance cases in New Jersey.
