The Evidence on School-Based Health Centers: A Review

Michael Arenson, Philip J. Hudson, NaeHyung Lee, and Betty Lai,

This academic literature review determines the verifiable benefits of school-based health centers. The authors find that school-based health centers successfully increase access to health-related services for students, their families, and their communities. This in turn supports positive short- and long-term physical health, mental health, and financial outcomes for students, families, and communities that have access to a school-based health center.
