School Gardens: Using Gardens to Grow Healthy Habits in Cafeterias, Classrooms and Communities
School gardens have been around for over 100 years, and school districts continue to use them today to establish healthy eating habits; as educational tools in the classroom; and to promote community inclusion. This fact sheet is for all school garden and farm to school stakeholders, including state agencies, local school districts, superintendents, facilities managers, and teachers. It provides case studies of different school gardens and farm-to-school approaches that have taken root in multiple states and provides resources to grow and sustain these gardens.
