Unsafe School Facilities Reinforce Educational Inequities among Marginalized Students

This article, written in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, considers the importance of school facilities in creating safe learning environments. It examines the chain of effects that links the degraded condition of school facilities in many lower-wealth communities to elevated health risks, irregular attendance, and diminished achievement among the economically disadvantaged students and students of color who are most likely to attend those schools.
